While specific dollar amounts are listed and suggestions for covering those amounts are made, TVS/Distance Learning can accept any amount you determine (whether all or part of the total cost) on either a one-time or monthly basis.
This is not a discount catalog! Remember the words of King David, “No! I will pay full price! I will not take for the Lord something that costs me nothing!” I Chronicles 21:24. However, please be assured that we will use your monies wisely and purchase these items at the best possible price!

We realize this is a very expensive piece of equipment, but perhaps you have been financially blessed by God and can make a monthly commitment of $835/month during 2009. | We currently have over 50 courses recorded waiting to be edited. It costs approximately $12,000 to prepare each course from the first step of recording the class through all the other steps to produce the finished product. Vitaliy feels we can complete 8 courses and 2 seminars if we have the financial resources. | Anna is the Distance Learning secretary and maintains a database that tracks all the students for credit as well as those students simply auditing the courses. She also does all the shipping and handling of the DVD courses to the students around the world as well as to the partnering organizations and colleges. Additionally, she serves as the librarian for our ever increasing library that can be used by Distance Learning students who come and take the courses on-site while they are being recorded. | TVS/Distance Learning charges students and organizations $4 per DVD and many courses consist of 10 DVDs or a total of $40. While this is significantly less than the total cost to produce the course, many people still cannot even pay the $4 per DVD. For example, the gentleman pictured below is Teleus Alexev a bishop from the far north of Russia in Eskimo territory. He had no money to buy any courses, but knew that he and his pastors desperately needed them. Vitaliy gave him a couple of courses and he cried! Currently TVS/DL gives away twice as many courses as we can sell. We are doing this because our primary goal is to spread the teaching of God's Word to all who need it, rather than all who could pay for it. Your gift of $40 will pay for one course to be given to someone who cannot pay. Our goal is to have scholarship funds available to give away 100 courses. | |||
Distribution in Former Soviet Republics | |||
| Most of these republics are very, very poor and the people and churches to do not have DVD players and cannot afford to buy the DL courses. Besides, selling them could be against the law and people could go to prison or worse, if caught! In 2008 we financed the distribution of four courses to 50-80% of all the churches in Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, and now we have official students from these countries! The cost of doing this was approximately $2500 per country. In 2009, we would like to target 3 other very poor republics, also at a cost of $2500 per country. | |||

| The Department for Transformation empowers those they teach and train in Evangelism by having various literature and technology resources available for them to give or use in their evangelism. Sometimes this department sponors Outreach Events which also need financial support. | |||

| The Distance Learning program needs the Internet, but it is expensive in Russia! We are also in the process of finishing a Russian-based website that will allow people to do the following: - Learn about Distance Learning -- learning what it is about, see the production, watch a preview and understand the educational concept; - Provide a way for people to download (and pay for) courses from anywhere in the world; - Provide a forum for students to get the help they need; - Link to information provided by the Department for Transformation. | |||

| The videotaping of lectures takes place in a real classroom setting in our building in Kursk. Each course being taught is advertised and students who have a special interest in taking the class on-site apply to be chosen for the classroom. Although some students can assume the cost of their travel, lodging, etc., most need some help with meeting these expenses. | |||
